May 30, 2016 - Memorial Day Parade

Meet behind the Hershey Recreation Center at 9:15 a.m.
The parade starts at 10:00. 
Please make sure to bring water for your Scout.
Pete Von-Getzie will be leading our pack!

Please wear your Class “A” uniform.  

Pick up is after the parade, behind Hershey Recreation Center where drop off is.

Check-in @ Daniel Lady Farm. 
Sunset Muster Ceremony—participants are mustered into service of Army of the Potomac and learn about events lead-ing up to Battle of Gettysburg 


Scouts will earn the Billy Yank segment [10 mile hike] of the Gettysburg Heritage Trail Patch 
  •  Meade’s HQ on Cemetery Ridge 
  •  Union Defense of Pickett’s Charge 
  •  General Sickles and the Peach Orchard 
  •  The Wheatfield and Bloody Run 
  •  Lunch in Devil’s Den 
  •  Union Defense of Little Round Top 
  •  Confederate Tower on Seminary Ridge 
  •  Learn military rifle and drill procedures before re-enacting Pickett’s Charge as the 28th Virginia’s “Bedford Greys” 


Scouts will earn the Johnny Reb [4 mile hike] and President Lincoln sections of the Gettysburg Heritage Trail Patch 
  • Visit the new NPS Visitor’s Center, including historic movie, Cyclorama and history museum exhibits. 
  • Battle on Culp’s Hill 
  • Climb the observation tower on Culp’s Hill 
  • Visit the National Military Cemetery 
  • Recitation of the Gettysburg Address
